Wing Personalities

Sevens can have either a dominant Six wing or Eight wing. The Entertainer (7w6) is a curious mix of introvert and extrovert qualities. Sevens are one of the most extroverted types on the Enneagram, along with the Three and the Eight, and they have the possibility of being paired with a Six wing which is often more introverted. Because Sixes are nicknamed The Loyalist, a Seven with a Six wing is more likely to have a more tempered relationship with commitment and stability than a Seven with a weaker Six wing. Sevens are afraid of commitment, but Sixes are devoted to it. Since both their basic number and their dominant wing are located in the Thinking Center, they have a stronger connection to the underlying fear and anxiety that motivates them.

On the other hand, The Realist (7w8) combines two very extroverted types. Both the Seven (The Enthusiast) and the Eight (The Challenger) are driven, extroverted, and unwaveringly unapologetic when it comes to the force of their personalities. Since the Eight is located within the Instinctive Center, Realists have more access to their gut reactions and anger than that of the 7w6 whose types are both centered only in the Thinking Center. The 7w8 is more energetic, passionate, and decisive than their 7w6 counterparts.
